Understanding Islam
About This Course
The Islamic worldview constitutes the framework within which human life develops and progresses. Our faith also provides the resilience factors to be able to stand firm for the cause of Allah SWT. This stream will focus on an in-depth exploration of Islam as a complete way of life, and how it relates to individual lives.
Objectives:
Understanding and internalizing the Islamic worldview and how it is the framework that holistically guides every part of our lives;
Realization that Islam provides a very unique framework that is comprehensive, balanced, and applicable to all spheres of life. The message of Islam is a message for all communities and is relevant until the end of time.
Critically recognizing and deconstructing alternate worldviews/paradigms / lifestyle choices that contradict with the Islamic worldview;
Reflecting on God-centeredness (rabbaniyah), Knowing Allah SWT, and understanding the true understanding of submission to Allah SWT and embodying la illaha illa Allah (there is no God but Allah) – beyond prayer, fasting, and ritual worship.
Discussing how to internalize and embody a God-centered worldview and to build strength, resilience, tawakul, and patience and to be able to stand firm for the cause of Allah SWT.
