About This Course
Islam is a blessing and solution to both individual and societal problems. Within the Islamic framework, the family is the primary social and foundational unit of society. This stream will focus on Islamic paradigm around parenting and family issues, youth challenges, women’s issues, and mental well-being as related to the theme. This will include how to build strength & resilience within the Muslim family, to be able to stand firm for the cause of Allah SWT.
Objectives:
Understanding how Islam provides a framework for family and society and how to apply this framework to specific contexts and dynamic life choices. Specifically the discussion will focus on the Islamic worldview of family, parenting, marriage, and community care.
Overcoming challenges and difficulties through strategies that build strength of character and firmness of conduct through the understanding of Islam as the perfect divine blessing. Strategies for developing resilience and maintaining the wellbeing of women, youth, children and families will be discussed;
Critically recognizing and deconstructing alternate worldviews/paradigms / lifestyle choices that contradict with the Islamic worldview as applied to gender, family, and society.
Reflecting on how to build a family anchored around God-centeredness (rabbaniyah) and understanding the true understanding of submission to Allah SWT and embodying la illaha illa Allah (there is no God but Allah) – beyond prayer, fasting, and ritual worship.
