About This Course

This stream will discuss the Islam concept of Ummah and how it relates to current issues. Discussions will include a deeper look into the challenges that the ummah is facing and the Islamic framework in promoting justice, compassion, human dignity, and reform. This will include how to support the cause of Allah SWT, and how in turn to achieve the support of Allah SWT.

Objectives:
Understanding and internalizing the Islamic worldview and how it is the framework that holistically guides every part of our lives;
Focus on the concept of ummah
Reframing the concepts of success/thriving from an Islamic perspective; (focusing on ummah)
Understanding our individual and collective role to uphold the religion of Islam in all spaces (iqamat-aldin);
How do we approach social justice issues? How do we thrive as a diverse community of Muslim Canadians?
Promoting justice, compassion, human dignity, reform in the greater community;
Focus on ummah issues
Understanding and acting on our responsibility towards others – care, support, and dawa
