Dr. Abdalla Idris Ali
Dr. Abdalla Idris Ali served as imam and director, and founded the first full-time Islamic school in Toronto, Canada. He served as the principal of ISNA Islamic Community School for 17 years. He also served on ISNA’s Executive Council, Majlis Ash-Shura, Youth and Education Committee and as president of ISNA for two terms. He is the chair of the Islamic Media Foundation, a member of NAIT Board, a founding member of CISNA, and chair of ISNA Education Forum. He is currently working as the executive director of ISNA Canada.
Dr. Khurram Khan
Dr. Khurram Khan served on the board of directors and executive committee of MAC in several capacities. His focus is on working with youth and young adults to achieve their professional and personal goals. He is also an adviser to Islamic organizations and an Islamic lecturer in the community. Professionally, he is an Associate Professor of Medicine at McMaster University. He has a Masters in Epidemiology and has published many peer-reviewed research articles in the specialty area of Digestive diseases. He enjoys studying history, playing sports, and spending time with his family.
Sh. Mohammad Z. Aboughoda
Mohammad Zahid Aboughoda is a well-grounded, frequent khatib and speaker across Canada. Studied at the hand of his late father Sheikh Abdul Fattah Aboughoda, a great scholar and dai’ya. Wrote and translated books in the fields of education, manners, literature and history. A former member of the Board of Directors of ISNA, MAS, MAC and ICNA. He holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Commerce at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Ali Al-Halawani
Dr. Ali is a lifelong student of the world-renowned Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. In his youth, he completed the intermediate/high school curriculum of Al-Azhar. Then moved on to complete his Bachelor’s degree and graduate studies there as well. He obtained a Master’s degree in linguistics and the translation of Islamic and shari’ah-based terms. He completed a PhD in Computational Linguistics and Translation of the Meanings of the Quran (Qur’anic Studies).
Dr. Monzer Kahf
Dr. Monzer Kahf is a Syrian American professor of Islamic Economics and Finance. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Utah in 1975. He has made significant contributions to Islamic Economics and Finance. His contributions include being a collaborating expert at the Islamic Fiqh Academy, and IMF Consultant on Islamic Finance. Dr. Monzer also served as the Head of Research in IRTI-IDB, Senior Research Economist, Director of Finance in the Islamic Society of North America, and a few other positions.
